At Railway Children it is equally important for us to have a positive and rewarding relationship with Our Parents. We want to ensure that you are confident in the care we deliver at all times. Our first priority is to provide care that creates a happy, nurturing environment that is comforting and safe for all Our Children.
Parent input is really important in all aspects of your child's Nursery life. By learning about your child’s early experiences with you we can best plan for their learning here at Our Nursery. We hope to build a warm and trusting relationship with all our Parents, starting with your initial visit and settling in sessions with your child. Our Staff value your knowledge and understanding when it comes to your child and their needs.
Communication is a key part of developing and maintaining relationships, and to aid this we provide each child with a 'Daily Journey' Book completed by our staff and contributions from the children listing achievements and experiences of their day. We encourage Parents to share with us experiences or achievements at home in this book and value the ‘Voice of the Parent’.
We operate an Open Door Policy here at Railway Children and encourage Parents to talk to us informally about their child's day and progress. We also hold termly parents evenings to discuss your child's development and learning. We talk through their Personal Development File, and Observations and Achievements they have made. We involve Parents in the structure for their child moving forward, and their 'next steps' at Nursery.
Our Parents Information Board displays up to date information for events happening at Nursery and our local community. You will also find our Newsletter, and any guidance leaflets. We have lots of display boards all around Nursery showing Children's achievements; you will find clear reference to their work and the significance of their play and learning.
